“A day without laughter is a day wasted.” -Charlie Chaplin

A-maze-ing Laughter is a group of laughing figures created by Beijing-based artist Yue Minjun for the 2009 Vancouver Biennale, a citywide public art exhibit that featured Minjun’s work and those of 30 other artists. The figures depict Minjun’s own image in a state of laughter with closed eyes and gaping grins. The laughing figures, a signature trademark of Yue Minjun, can be viewed at the Morton Triangle near English Bay Beach.

After your photo op, grab lunch at the Cactus Club Cafe on English Bay Beach. The food is great and the beachside patio is superb for people watching. The view is pretty good too!

I bet the laughing figures bring a lot of laughter and smiles to people… English Bay is beautiful!

    • They do attract a lot of attention and are a popular photo op. A couple of days ago I cycled past the A-maze-ing Laughter statutes at English Bay and stumbled upon a film crew. I would have snapped a few photos, but had packed away my camera.
