Steveston Dragon Boat Festival

The Steveston Dragon Boat Festival is an annual full day event held in late August at the Britannia Heritage Shipyard in Steveston Village. This popular festival has arts and crafts activities for children, food and vendor booths, and live entertainment.
More than 60 teams come from across British Columbia and Washington State to participate in this exciting event. D2 dragon boats are used at the festival. Dragon boat teams consist of a drummer, paddlers and a sweep. Each team participates in a 1200-metre race and a 3500-metre race. The event is suitable for all team competition levels, from novice to competitive. There is also a category for individuals who wish to join a team for the day.
The event is located in Steveston Village at 5180 Westwater Drive on the west side of Britannia Heritage Shipyard in Richmond. Parking is available at the Tomekichi Homma Elementary School at 5100 Brunswick Drive. Parking is limited and carpools are recommended.
