Cinnamon Buns at Refuge Cove
Gooey and big with the right amount of cinnamon topped with creamy vanilla icing!
Don’t miss the cinnamon buns at Refuge Cove on West Redonda Island. They are a delicious treat to enjoy with your morning coffee. Get there early because they quickly sell out!
Refuge Cove’s waterfront bistro, Upcoast Summers, is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Sundays and Mondays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, from mid-June through mid-September. The cafe and bakery serves espresso coffee, a wide selection of baked goods and other delicious offerings including deluxe burgers, home fries and fresh salads.
The Discovery Islands are located in the Discovery Passage between Vancouver Island and the mainland of British Columbia. This spectacular archipelago begins where the Strait of Georgia narrows between Quadra Island and Vancouver Island and continues north until it widens into the Johnstone Strait.
Many islands have resident artists who sell their products in galleries and at annual festivals. The area offers adventure, recreation and many fishing lodges. Biking, canoe touring, diving, hiking, sea kayaking and sport fishing are popular activities. Bikes, boats, canoes and sea kayaks can be rented locally.
That is a beautiful place to get close to nature!
It is Amy, I hope you are able to visit the Discovery Islands.
Your stories and photos have me wanting to go to Vancouver! Can Americans work there? Would I have to get some kind of work visa? Thanks so much for all this wonderful info!
Thank you Annie, I am happy to hear you find the information of interest and would like to visit Vancouver. Yes, a work visa is required. See the Government of Canada’s website at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/index.asp to learn about living and working in Canada.
Thank you so much, Patricia!
Can you walk to the huge lake behind Refuge Cove
I don’t know if you can walk to it. I doubt you can though given the terrain.
Yum, I can smell the sugary cinnamon on those buns right now…memories from my childhood.
Me too! Thinking about those cinnamon buns makes me hungry.
