Picnic Lunch at Capilano Lake

“If ants are such busy workers, how come they find time to go to all the picnics?” -Marie Dressler.

Bring a picnic lunch and spend a relaxing afternoon birdwatching while taking in the stunning view Capilano Lake and The Lions. Capilano lake is a watershed in North Vancouver that supplies approximately 40 per cent of Metro Vancouver’s fresh drinking water. The area is a local favourite because of its spectacular views of The Lions, Capilano Lake, and the Grouse Mountain gondola.

Your lunch can be as simple as a deli sandwich or as elaborate as a spread of gourmet foods and epicurean delights. For out-of-town visitors, I recommend visiting Granville Island Public Market, Lonsdale Quay Market, or Urban Fair to pick up the essentials for your delicious picnic. Urban Fair has four locations in downtown Vancouver: Coal Harbour, False Creek, Shangri-la, and Yaletown.
