Tour Review – September 2012
The Iditarod Dog Mushing Camp, managed by Gold Rush Dog Sled Tours, is located in Sheep Creek Valley near Juneau, Alaska. This activity is promoted as a one and half hour tour and includes a dog cart ride down a gravel road. Getting to the camp is easy, as the tour bus picked us up at the cruise ship dock. Once we arrived at the camp, our group was led into a tent where we received an explanation about the dogs, the Iditarod, and living conditions. After a cup of hot chocolate and a cookie, we took the cart ride and then spent time with the puppies.
